On 90% of the acreage, the yield of winter cereals is expected to be above the annual average

As of May 25, 2022 by visual assessment of the state of crops on the test fields, 90% of winter crops (in 2021 – 80%) were in good to excellent condition, the yield of these crops can be expected at or above the average level for the last 5 years. This is stated in the forecast of the yield and gross yield of winter crops, prepared by the Ukrhydrometeocenter, reports “ProAgro Group”.

At 10% (in 2021 – 12%) of the tested areas crops are in a satisfactory condition, their yields are most likely to be slightly below the average for the last 5 years. There were no areas in unsatisfactory condition where extremely low yields were likely, according to agrometeorological observations.

“Taking into account actual state of crops, weather forecast, available reserves of productive moisture in the soil and agrometeorological calculations this year we expect the following winter crops yield: wheat – 41,2 c/ha, rye – 31,2 c/ha, barley – 34,6 c/ha”, – the forecast says.
