More than 30% of agricultural fields will not be used for sowing crops because of the war. This is stated in the report of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, reports “ProAgro Group”.
Among the key problems, the organization calls active hostilities, as well as a large number of mines and other munitions left in the fields.
“More than 30 percent of agricultural fields will not be used for sowing wheat, barley, sunflower and corn,” the report said.
The department also noted that ongoing military action could cause a global food catastrophe.
“36 countries depend on food exports from Ukraine and Russia,” the organization recalled.
