Not less than a quarter of crops in Rivne region should be food crops. The corresponding order was signed by the head of the Rivne region military administration Vitaly Koval, as “ProAgro Group” reports.
Therefore, agrarians are advised to grow wheat, rye, barley, triticale, oats, peas, buckwheat, millet, potatoes and vegetables.
“This sowing campaign is special, because war dictates its conditions. Therefore, farms in the region allocate areas in favor of those crops that we use for the bakery, pasta industry. Less corn and soybeans – we replace the necessary crops. Agrarians understand that it is a change of technological cycle, but they meet us halfway”, – said Vitaly Koval.
The head of the region added that today the Rivne region is a rear area, which the regions suffering from the actions of the occupants count on. A total of 420 thousand hectares are planned to be sown this spring in the Rivne region, and 20% of this plan has already been sown.
