Sowing of winter crops has started in Ukraine. Seven regions of Ukraine are already sowing winter wheat, rye and barley, reports “ProAgro Group” with reference to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
At the moment 7.64 thousand hectares of cereals have been sown, including:
wheat – 5.17 thousand hectares;
barley – 2 thousand hectares;
rye – 0,47 thousand hectares.
The most active agrarians are in Chernihiv region, they have already sown winter crops on an area of 3,4 thousand hectares. Also in the top three are Vinnitsa region with 1,9 thousand hectares and Lviv region with 1,1 thousand hectares.
Considering the favorable weather conditions, the producers of all the regions of Ukraine sow winter rape in 686 thousand hectares. It is most of all in Dnipropetrovsk region – 87,9 thousand hectares, Odesa region – 72 thousand hectares, Ternopil region – 63,7 thousand hectares, Vinnitsa – 58,2 thousand hectares and Kirovograd region – 55,9 thousand hectares.
Agrarians of Volyn, Rivne, Ternopil, Cherkasy regions and Bukovina have completed sowing of winter rape.
