Since the beginning of the year Ukraine has exported products worth more than 21 billion dollars

Despite the significant losses suffered by agriculture due to the aggression of Russia, Ukraine retains significant export potential in the agricultural sector. This was stated by First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko in an interview with CNN, ProAgro Group reports, citing information from the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

“In general, for 11 months of this year, Ukraine exported 50.9 million tons of agricultural and food products for a total of $ 21.1 billion. In terms of volume it is by 16.7%, and in terms of value – by 13.7% less than in 11 months of last year,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.

Among the products of the agro-industrial complex and food industry, the most exported were, in particular

corn (21.9 million tons worth $ 5.3 billion)
wheat (9.6 million tons worth $2.3 billion)
sunflower oil (3.9 million tons worth $ 5.0 billion);
rapeseed or rape seeds (2.9 million tons worth $1.4 billion);
meal from vegetable fats and oils (2.9 million tons worth $671.2 million).

These indicators were achieved by Ukrainian producers despite the losses of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine. Thus, according to the report prepared by the KSE Institute together with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, losses (direct losses) of the agricultural sector amounted to $ 6.6 billion. Indirect – $ 34.25 billion.

According to Yulia Svyrydenko, the “grain initiative”, which has been in force since July 2022, and the new Grain from Ukraine program are of great importance in restoring export volumes.
