As of April 7, the estimated sowing area of main spring crops for the harvest of 2022 on the territory controlled by Ukraine amounts to 13 648 thousand hectares, which is by 3 268.3 thousand hectares less than last year’s figure. This is reported by ProAgro Group with reference to the information of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food.
According to the operative data of the structural subdivisions of military administrations, 23 regions of Ukraine, except Lugansk region, almost all territory of which is affected by military operations, have begun sowing spring crops.
Thus, all categories of farms have sown:
spring wheat – 113.5 thousand hectares;
spring barley – 550.8 thsd. ha;
spring rape – 11,600 hectares; oats – 81,000 hectares;
oats – 81 thousand hectares
peas – 82,500 hectares; spring rape – 11,600 hectares; oats – 81,000 hectares
buckwheat – 0.2 th. ha;
millet – 0.2 th. ha;
corn – 13.6 thsd. ha; sugar beet – 55.2 thsd. ha;
sugar beet – 55.2 thousand hectares; and
sunflower – 108.1 hectares
soybeans – 14.1 thsd. ha
potatoes – 43.2 thousand hectares.
Agricultural enterprises also continue feeding winter crops with nitrogen mineral fertilizers and conduct proper care of crops.
