Sowing of winter crops has been completed in Poltava region

Poltava agrarians have completed sowing winter crops of the 2023 harvest on an area of 223.5 thousand hectares. This was told by the director of the regional department of agro-industrial development Serhii Frolov, according to ProAgro Group with reference to the message of the Poltava Regional State Administration.

Including winter wheat sown on 210.5 thousand hectares, rapeseed – 20.2 thousand hectares. All crops are in good (70%) and satisfactory (30%) condition.

Frolov noted that agricultural producers of Poltava region received assistance from various international companies in the form of humanitarian aid.

“In general, Poltava region has received about 240 sowing units of winter rape from Monsanto Ukraine LLC, in particular, according to the applications of 30 farms in the region, each of which cultivates up to 100 hectares of land,” informed the head of the agricultural department.

Currently, the corn harvesting continues in the region: 158.8 thousand hectares have been threshed, 1.26 million tons have been harvested. The harvesting of soybeans and sunflower is almost finished: 126 thousand hectares of soybeans have been threshed, 379.1 thousand tons have been harvested; sunflower – 421.3 thousand hectares, 1.13 million tons have been harvested. Sugar beet was dug on 21.2 thousand hectares, 951.3 thousand tons were harvested.
