Sumy and Poltava oblasts have completed sowing of winter crops

As of October 18, 2021 5,7 million hectares of winter crops have been sown, which is 72% of the forecast. The leaders in the rate of sowing of winter crops are farmers of Sumy and Poltava oblasts, which have completed sowing of winter crops, as “ProAgroGroup” reports with reference to the information of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

5 million hectares of wheat have been sown, which is 75% of the forecast.

Barley is sown on 511 thousand hectares, or 50% to the forecast. Agricultural producers of Volyn have already finished sowing it and agrarians of Chernigiv region, Lviv oblasts and Zakarpattya are also close to it.

Rye is sown on 139 thousand hectares, or 86% to the forecast. Vinnytssa, Mylolasv, Poltava and Kherson oblasts have already finished sowing. Also close to the end of rye sowing agrarians in Volyn, Sumy, Chernigiv and some other oblasts.

In addition, 1 million hectares of winter rape have been sown in Ukraine, which is 98% of the forecast. Agrarians in 18 regions have fully completed sowing of rape, and in Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv oblasts the forecast figures have been exceeded.
