The share of organic products on the domestic market is less than 1%

Today Ukrainians consume much less organic products than in the EU: per capita this figure is less than 1 euro, while in the EU it is 84 euro per year on average.

This is reported by “ProAgro Group” with reference to OrganicInfo.

The share of organic products in the domestic market today is 7,850 tons, that is, just over $25 million.

This is less than 1% of total sales of food products in today’s retail channels. For comparison, the largest share of organic products in the Danish market – more than 12%.

However, today we can observe a steady trend of emerging new organic producers, expanding the range of certified products, increasing imports of organic products.
