In the first quarter of fiscal year 2022, Kernel processed 482 thousand tons of oilseeds, down 27% compared to the same period last fiscal year.
This was reported by the press service of the company, “ProAgro Group” informs with reference to Agravery.
The company stressed that with a sunflower seed processing volume of 373 thousand tons, the business suffered from insufficient supply in the market at the end of the processing season (September-August) after the sunflower seed crop failure in autumn 2020.
It is noted that to maintain capacity two Kernel plants switched to rapeseed processing, having processed a total of 109 thousand tons of rapeseed of the new crop 2021.
We would like to add that vegetable oil sales in Q1 2022 FY totaled 221 thousand tons, down 25% compared to the same period in 2021, which largely corresponds to the structure of production. Sales of sunflower oil amounted to 192 thousand tons (including 30 thousand tons of bottled sunflower oil), the rest being rapeseed oil.
