This year’s harvest results will be lower by about 25% compared to last year due to the loss of agricultural land as a result of the war. However, in general, the harvest in Ukraine is good, so our country will be fully provided with products and will have enough grain for export.
This was stated by the People’s Deputy of Ukraine, member of the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Dmytro Solomchuk, reports “ProAgro Group” with reference to Agravery.
“The current harvest will be completely sufficient for domestic needs. Only wheat harvested about 20 million tons. At the same time, Ukraine does not use more than 8 million tons. In general, we will be able to export about 35-40 million tons of agricultural products from the new harvest, if we take all crops,” the MP said.
According to him, thanks to the “grain corridor” it was possible to significantly increase exports.
“The volume of exports increased significantly in August. In September, I think we will reach 5 million tons by sea. However, in order to export the entire last year’s harvest, we need at least October-November. Currently, at least 8-9 million tons of agricultural products remain for export,” – the parliamentarian said.
He expressed hope that the agreement on the “grain corridor” will be automatically prolonged. There are no violations of the agreements reached by Ukraine.
