As of today, 81.9% of last year’s buckwheat, 73% of sunflower and 96.6% of soybeans are sown in the Ukrainian fields. Vinnitsya, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattya, Kyiv, Poltava, Mykolayiv, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky and Cherkasy regions have finished sowing spring wheat.
In general, sowing of spring grains and leguminous crops has been completed by 80.6% of the last year, “ProAgro Group” reports with reference to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
As of June 2, the projected areas of sowing of main spring crops for the harvest of 2022 on the territory controlled by Ukraine amounted to 14 161.3 thousand ha, which is 2 755 thousand ha less than last year (16 916.3 thousand ha).
According to the operative data of the structural subdivisions of regional state administrations responsible for agricultural development, 23 regions of Ukraine except Luhansk region, almost all territory of which is affected by military operations, are sowing spring crops.
