Ukraine will be able to increase exports to the EU with value-added agricultural products

In May, Ukraine exported almost 5 times more agricultural products than in March – 1.7 million tons. This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky during the broadcast of the national marathon UArazom, reports “ProAgro Group” with reference to the information of the Ministry.

According to official statistics, about 350 thousand tons were exported in March, in April – three times more, about 1 million tons, and in May we have an indicator of more than 1 700 thousand tons, he said.

“It is not yet the same volumes that were going through seaports, but it is a significant constant growth. Most of it is exported directly through Poland, then Romania, the rest is exported through other countries of the European Union,” said Taras Vysotsky.

According to him, a huge support to Ukraine in this matter has Poland, because with it we have the largest number of crossings – both railway and road. Therefore, Poland is constantly increasing the number of competent customs officials, and the mode of operation is transferred to a 24 by 7 format, which allows for significant progress.

“We will continue to work in this direction, because we believe that still incomplete potential is used these alternative routes,” – emphasized the First Deputy Minister.

According to his conviction, the volume of export of products with added value will also increase in the EU. Grain and oilseeds were previously exported without restrictions, but quotas for a number of products have been exhausted in a few months, mainly in regard to value-added products.
