American businessman and philanthropist Howard Buffett has held a meeting with Ukrainian farmers where he said that today assistance and investment in Ukrainian agriculture is a contribution to the food security of millions of people around the world.
This is reported by “ProAgro Group” with reference to the information of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
Within the framework of project “Harvest of Victory” financed by the Howard Buffett Foundation Ukrainian farmers received as a charity 50 harvesters, 49 tractors and various agricultural equipment. Mobile grain storages are also on their way to Ukraine.
The fund allocated $90 million to Ukrainians from the de-occupied territories, including for the sowing season. Also, as Howard Buffet noted, a program of aid to small farmers for the next year is being developed.
The fund supports an investigation into the consequences of military operations on the agricultural sector, as well as the development of a compensation mechanism for losses.
