As of November 12, 6.55 million tons of sugar beet were processed and 903.6 thousand tons of sugar was produced in Ukraine. This is reported by ProAgro Group with reference to the information of the association “Ukrtsukor”.
As reported, sugar season 2021/22 started on August 21. Now the processing of sugar beet is conducted by 29 sugar refineries. Several plants have not yet started to work because of the rise in price of gas.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, for the time sugar beet was harvested on 205.7 thousand hectares, which constitutes 91% of the harvesting area, so that more than 9.6 million tons of sweet roots have been collected. Harvesting has already been completed in Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Bukovyna regions.
