Erdoğan discussed grain exports with Zelensky and Putin

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held telephone talks with Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin on Monday, the office of the Turkish leader said.

According to ProAgro Group, citing UNN, Erdogan discussed with the Ukrainian president the creation of a route for the export of Ukrainian products.

“President Erdogan stressed that he attaches special importance to the project of creating a safe corridor for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products by sea,” Erdogan’s press office said in a statement.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an evening address that because Russia is blocking Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea and has seized the Ukrainian coast of the Sea of Azov, Ukraine cannot export the 22 million tons of grain that it already has in storage.

Erdogan also discussed the topic of grain exports from Ukraine with Russian President Putin.

“Putin stressed the readiness of the Russian side to facilitate the unimpeded maritime transit of goods in coordination with Turkish partners. This also applies to the export of grain from Ukrainian ports,” the Kremlin said in a statement on its website.
