Analysts of the French agency Agritel predict that this year France may get the worst corn harvest in this century, ProAgro Group reports referring to the Ukrainian Grain Association.
Experts expect that due to severe drought, the grain crop in the country could reach 10.8 million tons. At the same time, analysts forecast corn production in the EU in 2022/23 MY at 53.8 million tons, which is the lowest over the past 15 years.
At the same time, the forecast of wheat production in France was slightly increased to 33.63 million tons, compared with 33.44 million tons in the preliminary forecast, which is still below the average for the last 5 years.
Export of wheat from France in 2022/23 MY may reach 10.2 million tons, which is lower than the previous forecast (10.9 million tons). At the same time, experts noted that the shipment of wheat from the country in July-August is estimated at 2.5 million tons, which is 25% of the export potential in the current season and exceeds the figure for the same period last year (14%).
