Western countries, including Estonia and Lithuania, are seeking to restore Ukrainian exports, with grain carriers escorted through the Black Sea by allied warships. For this purpose it is necessary first to clear the ports, after which Russia should allow the ships safe passage.
This was stated by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, reports “ProAgro Group” with reference to Bloomberg agency.
Johnson said he had a “good conversation” with Turkish President Recep Erdogan in recent days.
“But I’m not going to pretend that there is an immediate solution that we can implement with a snap of our fingers,” the British head of government said.
The agency notes that a British spokesman said this week that there are no plans yet to use British warships to escort grain cargoes.
However, the British Prime Minister is trying to put his government at the forefront of international efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s ability to resist Russian aggression.
