According to the results of the first International Constituent Summit International Summit on Food Security on the implementation of the Ukrainian humanitarian initiative Grain from Ukraine, about $ 150 million has been collected, which will be used to purchase food for countries in Africa and Asia suffering from hunger.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with media representatives following the summit in Kyiv, ProAgro Group reports with reference to the website of the head of state.
“The essence of our new humanitarian initiative is very simple, transparent, very important. We plan to send at least 60 ships from Ukrainian ports to countries that are most affected by the food crisis and need urgent assistance. These are countries such as Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Congo, Kenya, Yemen and others,” Zelenskyy said.
According to the President, the Grain from Ukraine initiative emphasizes the importance of food security and the global role of Ukraine and its partners in guaranteeing this security.
