Poland built the first “dry port” hangar for Ukrainian grain at the border

In Polish Holm, which is 25 km from the border with Ukraine, ETC Terminal has built the first of two hangars for the temporary storage of grain. Agricultural products from this terminal will be subsequently sent in containers to Spain.

ProAgro Group reports this, citing Elevatorist.com.

“We also recently posted two truck weights. Each of our suppliers has met the temporary pressure that the situation in Ukraine is putting on us,” said ETC Terminal (The Hill) managing director Kacper Vecerek.

At the end of August, Spanish railroad operator Renfe’s containers equipped with special large bags for grain transportation will arrive in Holm. The loaded fleet will be delivered by the Polish subsidiary DB Cargo to the Lódz Spedcont terminal in Łódź, and then 600 tons of corn in 25 units of 40-foot containers will go through Duisburg to the port in Barcelona. This is a pilot project, testing the feasibility of rail transportation of grain from Ukraine to Spain.

It is also indicated that ETC Terminal (Holm) started to work actively on grain transportation from Ukraine in August. Already confirmed 120 thousand tons of cargo for handling. The operator is DB Cargo.
