As of November 26, 7.69 million tons of sugar beet were processed and 1,074.6 million tons of sugar was produced in Ukraine. This is reported by ProAgro Group with reference to the information of the association “Ukrsugar”.
As reported, the sugar season 2021/22 began on August 21. 29 plants worked at the peak of the season, while several factories were not launched because of the rise in gas prices.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, sugar beet is now harvested on 222.7 thousand hectares, which is 98% of the harvesting area, more than 10.5 million tons of sweet roots were collected. Agrarians in 13 regions have already finished harvesting them.
According to an optimistic forecast of Ukrsugar, sugar production in the country this season will reach 1.45 million tons with domestic demand of 1.25-1.3 million tons.
