As of December 3, 8.15 million tons of sugar beet were processed in Ukraine and 1 142.6 thousand tons of sugar were produced. This is reported by ProAgro Group with reference to the information of the association “Ukrsugar”.
As was reported, sugar season 2021/22 began on August 21. Of the 29 plants that have been launched, a large part has already finished processing. At the same time, several plants have not been opened due to higher gas prices.
According to optimistic forecast of Ukrsugar, this season sugar production in the country will reach 1.45 million tons, with domestic demand of 1.25-1.3 million tons.
