Russian missiles struck Ukrainian territory again this night. Sneakily and at the ordinary civilian infrastructure. In particular, another fuel base. They have consistently destroyed fuel storage sites, food distribution centers, destroyed even ordinary agricultural equipment and mined fields.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told about this in his speech before the Parliament of Ireland, reports “ProAgro Group”.
In addition, according to the head of state, Russia has blocked all Ukrainian seaports along with those ships that were already loaded with agricultural products for export.
“Why are they doing this? Because they see hunger as their weapon as well. A weapon against us ordinary people. As a tool to dominate,” stressed Zelensky.
He noted that Ukraine is one of the leading countries in the world food market. Without our exports – it is not just a deficit, but a threat of famine for more than a dozen countries in Africa and Asia. Because there will not be enough physical volumes of products and prices will rise substantially. This is a fact.
“Now it is the time of sowing campaign in Ukraine. To disrupt our sowing season, to destroy our infrastructure is to deliberately provoke a food crisis. And what will happen as a result of this crisis? At the very least political turbulence. And at the most, there will be outbursts of violence in the regions, where instability is becoming traditional, and a new mass flow of refugees, who will be just looking for a way to survive,” said the president.
Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that Russia has been using starvation since the first days of the war in Ukraine. This is evidenced, in particular, by the situation in the blockaded Mariupol, where the occupiers do not allow any food or water to be brought in, which caused a humanitarian disaster in the city of half a million people.
