Ukraine lost up to 10 million tons of crops in the occupied territories

In 2022, Ukraine lost up to 10 million tons of potential harvest due to the occupation of the territories.

This was announced today at a briefing by First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy Taras Vysotskyi, ProAgro Group reports with reference to Ukrinform.

“We estimated that about 10 million tons could be harvested from the areas in the occupied territories. This harvest has different fate: somewhere stolen, somewhere burned,” – he said.

According to Vysotskyi, thanks to the information collected via satellites, it is known for sure about the loss of 500 thousand tons of grain.

The Deputy Minister noted that the final losses can be calculated after the de-occupation of the territories.
