According to the State Customs Service, Ukraine exported 105 thousand tons of nitrogenous fertilizers worth $62 million in November 2021.
The supplies were carried out to Romania, Bulgaria, Argentina, Italy, Hungary and some other countries, as ProAgro Group reports with reference to the Ukrainian club of agrarian business.
A total of 63 thousand tons of carbamide was sent abroad. Also, 25.5 thousand tons of Urea-Ammonia mixture (UAN) and 16 thousand tons of Lime-Ammonium Nitrate (LAS) were exported. At the same time, it is worth noting that, according to the State Customs, UAN was exported at an average price of $ 317 per ton, while its price in the domestic market of Ukraine during this period was not less than $ 600 per ton without VAT. Thus, this may be an evidence of dumping export of the scarce product.
“It is known that prices for nitrogen fertilizers in 2021 increased by 3 times, primarily due to the rise in price of natural gas. As a result, a certain shortage of nitrogen fertilizers is expected on the world and Ukrainian market. In response to this, some countries producers of nitrogen fertilizers began to limit exports, giving priority to providing their domestic markets, in particular agricultural producers”, – said Roman Slasten, UCAB director general.
