In 2021 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Consumer Service have opened or restored access to foreign markets for 81 groups of Ukrainian products in 21 countries around the world.
As ProAgro Group reports, behind each of these decisions there is a huge work of many specialists that sometimes can take years. The chairman of the State Consumer Service of Ukraine Vladyslava Magaletska writes about it in her blog on “Economic Truth”.
“In November 2020, together with our colleagues from the Republic of Serbia, we agreed on a form of health certificate for the import of honey to this country. Exports from Ukraine began immediately and today we have a good dynamics: +158 tons of honey in Serbia since the beginning,” the head of SCS cites an example.
Thanks to such meticulous work, last year the export of agricultural products amounted to almost $1.2 billion, and in the first 9 months of 2021 already $ 970 million. Its basis is still grain crops. However, we are increasingly exporting vegetables, dairy products, meat, eggs, not to mention fats and oils.
Today the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy and the State Consumer Service are working to open 12 new markets in the region: for meat, eggs, milk, fodder, fish. Separately, we are working to reduce the number of notifications when trading cereals, said Vladyslava Magaletska.
