The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has a request for 10 investment projects in the processing industry. The total volume of investments is more than $1 billion. These figures were announced by minister Roman Leshchenko, reports ProAgro Group referring to Agroportal. He added that these projects are currently under examination.
When asked about the availability of government programs and subsidies, which can be used by the agroprocessors, the minister named the decree number 300, which defines the procedure for financial support through credit cheapening.
According to the document, farmers receive compensation of the interest rate on loans (short-term, medium-term and long-term) in the amount of 1.5 discount rate of the NBU, in particular for the construction of agricultural processing facilities.
“The company will have compensation every month during the fiscal year – the cost of credit for borrowers is about 5%. Thanks to this program agribusiness enterprises only this year have attracted more than 37 billion UAH of soft loans. It also provides an opportunity to invest in the industry”, – explained Roman Leshchenko.
