Next year Ukraine will expand support program for livestock farming

In 2022 the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food plans to expand the state support of farmers in the livestock sector, where there has been a decline in performance for the past 30 years.

This was announced by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Roman Leshchenko during the press conference, ProAgro Group reports with the reference to “Ukrinform”.

“In 2022, within the funds that we have in the amount of 4.5 billion UAH, according to the results of the first and second quarters, we expect expansion of state support, primarily in the direction of “livestock”. As this sector has been demonstrating the fall of indicators for 30 years, and without high level of state support of animal husbandry we will not provide stabilization of the situation”, – Leshchenko said.

He added that the request for support programs in cattle breeding is the largest in volume. This means that Ukrainian agrarians are ready to invest and develop animal breeding, but on condition of long-term predictable state policy with corresponding financing.

In general, according to him, 1.6 billion UAH has been allocated for state support in livestock and processing in 2021.
