The level of shadow economy in January-September 2021 amounted to 31% of the official gross domestic product (GDP).
This is stated in the analytical note of the Ministry of Economy “General trends of shadow economy in Ukraine in January-September 2021,” reports “ProAgro Group” with reference to “Ukrinform”.
The ministry noted that a slight decrease in the level of shadow economy occurred against the background of adaptation of economic entities to activities in conditions of unpredictable in time quarantine restrictions.
This is confirmed by optimistic sentiments in business activity, the preservation of sustainable consumer and investment demand under the “green” level of epidemic danger throughout the country and, as a consequence, the improvement in the reporting period (as compared to January-September 2020) of the financial results of enterprises’ activities against a favorable foreign economic situation.
