As of April 21, banks issued loans to 3070 agricultural producers in the amount of 8 840 million UAH. The major part of the money has been attracted under the program of portfolio guarantees, “ProAgro Group” reports referring to the information of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
The top three regions that attracted the loans last month remain unchanged: Kirovograd (UAH 1 473 million), Vinnytsia (UAH 1 308 million) and Dnipropetrovsk (UAH 1 200 million) regions.
The Ministry notes that under the program “Affordable credits 5-7-9%” the banks provide soft loans and state guarantees to agrarians on a portfolio basis. The interest rate is 0%. Loan term – 6 months. The amount of the loan is up to UAH 60 million. The farmer has to provide only 20% of the loan amount as a collateral, the rest is guaranteed by the government.
The credit can be used by farmers who fall under the definition of agricultural producer. There are no restrictions on the amount of land in cultivation.
