The Verkhovna Rada has registered the revised bill № 5297 “On state support of agriculture of Ukraine” on the promotion of milk production, which would protect the Ukrainian farmer.
The secretary of the agrarian committee of the VR Ivan Chaikovsky wrote about it on his Facebook page, ProAgro Group reports.
“The number of cattle in small farms is constantly decreasing, so the indicator of production of dairy products drops. And this at a time when there is considerable demand in Ukraine, which is filled with imports,” the politician said.
He noted that the state must immediately interfere in this situation and help the farmers: to allocate subsidies and loans, to adopt the necessary programs to support and develop the sector, as it is done in other countries, particularly in the EU.
“We must adopt positive experience and urgently implement changes to improve the situation, if we want to preserve the Ukrainian dairy sector,” said Ivan Chaykovsky.
He recalled that instead of 5.8 billion hryvnias, which were proposed to be allocated to support the agricultural sector in 2021, only 4.4 billion have been envisaged and it is not enough.
