Ukraine has become the leader in terms of growth in the supply of apples to Ethiopia in 2021. This is reported by ProAgro Group with reference to EastFruit.
“During the year, exports of fresh apples from Ukraine to Ethiopia increased more than six times and reached 222 tons. By the volume of supplies to Ethiopia, Ukraine has surpassed such major apple exporting countries as Poland, Italy, China, the United States and Serbia,” the publication informs.
Apples from Ukraine have already become a real trend in Sub-Saharan Africa, so analysts predict that the share of this region in the structure of domestic fruit export will continue to grow.
According to the State Consumer Service, Ukraine for 9 months of 2021 exported more than 10 thousand tons of apples to 65 countries of the world, but soon the number of countries may increase significantly. In the 2019/2020 season, just over 20 thousand tons of apples were exported from Ukraine.
