Occupiers smuggle grain out of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk and Donetsk regions

Russian occupants are stealing grain from temporarily occupied territories in Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. Approximately one and a half million tons of grain have been concentrated here for sowing and domestic consumption. Several hundred thousand tons have already been stolen and exported to the Russian Federation.

This was noted by First Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy Taras Vysotsky on the air of the national marathon, reports “ProAgro Group” with reference to the information of the ministry.

“The Russians are using the tactics of the early 20th century with the theft of grain and exporting it from Ukraine. Today we have confirmed facts that several hundred thousand tons of grain were taken out of the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk and Donetsk regions in total. On these territories, there are about one and a half million tons of grain in the farmers’ reserves, which were formed for sowing and also for processing (for making flour, baking bread). This is a substantial reserve. At international prices it is worth hundreds of millions of dollars. And there is a great risk that it will simply be stolen and exported in favor of Russia,” said Taras Vysotsky.

He also noted that there were no strategic stocks on the occupied territories. The oblasts stored the grain needed for consumption in these territories until the new harvest.
