As of November 1, 7.1 million hectares of winter crops were sown, or 90% of the forecast, ProAgro Group reports with reference to the information from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
Agrarians in Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zakarpattya, Luhansk, Sumy, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky and Cherkasy oblasts are among leaders in the pace of sowing of winter crops.
Wheat was sown on 6.1 million hectares, or 91% of the forecast. In addition to the above mentioned, winter wheat sowing has been completed by agricultural producers in Zhytomyr oblast.
Rye is sown on 157 thousand hectares, or 98% of the forecast. In addition to the above mentioned, it has already been sown in 14 oblasts. The agrarians from Kyiv, Chernigiv and some other oblasts are also close to the finish of it.
Moreover, 1 million tons of winter rape has been sown in Ukraine, which is 99% of the forecast. Agrarians in 19 oblasts have completely finished sowing rape, and Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv oblasts have exceeded the forecast.
