The agreement on grain export, signed by Ukraine, Turkey, the United Nations and Russia, should start working this week. This was announced today at a briefing by Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov, reports ProAgro Group.

“We are preparing everything that depends on us so that we will be ready for the start this week,” he said.

Kubrakov stressed that as part of the grain agreement, clearance will take place “exclusively in the corridor that we need for grain export.”

According to Deputy Infrastructure Minister Yuriy Vaskov, preparations of our services, ports, are now underway, it has been going on for several days, he said.

“We believe that within the next 24 hours we will be ready to work to restore exports from our ports. We are talking about the port of Chernomorsk, it will be the first, then there will be Odesa, then the port Pivdenny. Within two weeks we will be technically ready to export from all three ports,” Vaskov added.

“Already within this week, we hope that the first shipment will be carried out,” he said.

At the same time, as noted by Reuters, the Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian port of Odesa on July 23 raises doubts about the possibility of implementing the agreement reached last week to open a corridor for grain exports.
