Approximately 240 abandoned and temporarily delayed freight trains have been recorded on the ways of “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
Such data during a traditional meeting with representatives of the grain market on December 23 was reported by Valeriy Tkachov, Deputy Director of the Department of Commercial Work of “Ukrzaliznytsia”, informs ProAgro Group referring to Rail.insider.
The accumulation of abandoned trains is observed in the direction of seaports. In particular, 6 trains with grain are abandoned on the responsibility of grain terminals.
“There are no capacities, at the same time shipment is confirmed, and we have to stop these trains on the railways”, – said Valeriy Tkachov.
In turn, the director of the department of traffic management of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” Volodymyr Rushchak noted that a locomotive from the Melitopol depot has already been transferred to the Mykolayiv direction. Another one is going to be transferred in a few days.
“We are waiting for holidays and hope that while the clients are celebrating, we will be able to transport what has been accumulated.
