The first caravan of ships with Ukrainian grain departed from the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk

Today morning the first caravan of vessels with the Ukrainian grain set out from the ports of “Big Odesa”.

There are 57 thousand tons of Ukrainian corn on the board of three bulk carriers NAVI STAR, ROJEN and POLARNET, which are heading to Turkey, the UK and Ireland, the minister of infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov said on his page in Facebook, as ProAgro Group reports.

In particular, today’s caravan resumed navigation from the port “Chornomorsk”.

“We expect that the security guarantees of our partners in the UN and Turkey will continue to work, and the export of food from our ports will be stable and predictable for all market participants,” Kubrakov wrote.

According to him, the ports’ ability to handle more than 100 ships a month is planned. Although the “grain corridor” has already started to work on the way out, the goal is full operation of the ports in both directions. There are applications from shipowners who are ready to enter Ukrainian ports for loading, and the first such operation is expected as early as tomorrow.

“Our goal is 3 or more million tons of exports of agricultural products every month from the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdenny,” said the minister.
