Ukraine will be able to transport by pipeline to Gdansk up to 2 million tons of oil per year

600 km long and with a capacity of 2 mln tons per year – these are preliminary technical characteristics of a Ukrainian-Polish project to build a pipeline to transport vegetable oils. Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyy told about the details of the recently signed memorandum with Poland on the implementation of the project, “ProAgro Group” reports quoting the information of the Ministry.

He stressed that Ukraine needs to create alternative powerful logistics export routes. Since we process a lot of oil crops, the pipeline is one of these options.

“We have been dealing with this issue for several months – we carried out an expertise, consulted with business. The Polish side was positive about the proposal. The construction will take less time than the approval of all documents. The pipeline will be several hundreds of kilometers long and the interests of many communities and people must be taken into account. We are more concerned about this than about the construction itself,” said Mykola Solskyy.

As the Minister noted, the technical specifications are very preliminary: length – 600 km, capacity – up to 2 million tons of oil per year. The pipeline should run from the area of Yagodin (Volyn region) to the Polish Gdansk.
