In September 2021, 38 million tons of grain cargo was transported by rail. This is a record figure over the past 10 years, says “ProAgro Group” with reference to the information of “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
According to Alexander Zaruba, director of the state company for commercial work and logistics, such results were achieved by the company due to coordinated work and efficient organization of transportation.
“In 2019-2020 grain transportation was carried out according to clearly defined strings of traffic schedule, according to the timetable of route trains. This negatively affected the quality and speed of transportation of other cargoes: iron ore, coal and others. This year we moved away from this practice, because we have to satisfy all customers on equal terms, regardless of the type of cargo. But thanks to improvement of dispatching work and freight stations we managed to show the best result of grain transportation since 2011 “, – Alexander Zaruba said.
He also added that the company has all opportunities to export a record number of grain this year. For his part, he asks the cargo owners to ensure a rhythmic load during the week and throughout the year, so that this work does not slow down on holidays and weekends.
In September, the company loaded an average of 118,900 tons of grain on a daily basis, 30.6 percent more than in September 2020 and 10.6 percent more than in September 2019.
