“Ukrzaliznytsia” allowed to re-direct the cargo to another destination station if the original consignee cannot confirm its reception. This applies to the company’s own grain carriers sold through ProZorro.
This information was made public during the weekly meeting with grain carriers by Valeriy Tkachov, deputy director of the department of commercial work of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, reports ProAgro Group with reference to Rail.insider.
Denis Yarmolenko, a representative of Ichnya Transport Hub LLC, spoke about the problem during the event. He noted that the company participated in several tenders to sell the right to use UZ grain carriers. But when it won the lot, it turned out that on that date the port is physically unable to confirm the application.
Valeriy Tkachov offered such a solution to the situation: “If the consignee does not agree to receive on some dates, we can offer an option: to redirect this volume to another terminal, i.e. to another destination station.
The representative of UZ also noted that they will change the format of the auctions. “We will offer a 4-month. Perhaps we will change the lots (in particular, reduce their number at the request of consignors), we will vary the loading sites. Perhaps we will offer a universal lot without tying to the site. But we will do it in January”, – he emphasized.
In addition, the representative of UZ predicted that the starting rate in January for grain cars will grow by 100 hryvnias against the current one.
