“Continental Farmers Group” has exported 121 thousand tons of high quality flour wheat to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2021. Two Panamax-class ships with Ukrainian wheat have already been unloaded in the ports of Jeddah and Yanbu.
The shipments took place under a direct contract with Saudi Arabian state purchaser Saudi Grains Organization (SAGO), ProAgro Group reports, citing information from the agro-industrial holding.
For “Continental” it is the second direct export of wheat to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: in 2020, company has already exported 60 thousand tons of high-quality milling wheat to the KSA. This was the first delivery of Ukrainian wheat to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 2008, due to the KSA’s high requirements for grain quality.
“I am pleased that Continental was able to reopen the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s export market for Ukrainian wheat and double the volume of direct exports compared to last year. This is a promising market for Ukraine, and for us it is a confirmation of the high quality of the company’s products,” commented Georg von Nolken, CEO of Continental Farmers Group.
