IMC agricultural holding has completed corn harvesting. Grain was harvested from an area of more than 68 thousand hectares, 718 thousand tons were threshed, ProAgro Group reports with reference to the company’s information.
“This year’s harvesting of late crops was not easy, because wet September forced to start the work almost two weeks later than planned. However, we are extremely pleased with the result, because the observance of intensive technology with the most modern production practices, the constant desire to experiment and improve the technological map once again gave its fruit and proved the correctness of the chosen approach, “- said IMC operating director Alexander Verzhihovsky.
This year the average corn yield of the company is 105.5 c/ha, which is 42% higher than the average corn yield in Ukraine (74.2 c/ha as of December 2 according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine) and is the second best result in the history of IMC.
However, the holding notes that there are problems with the railway logistics in the country, which led to a slowdown in shipments and prevented elevators to receive grain from the field at full capacity. And the rich grain harvest, which significantly exceeded the planned indicators, required timely correction of almost all production logistics.
