Ovostar has increased sales of eggs for export and decreased in the domestic market

In January-September 2022, Ovostar Union Group produced 1.19 billion chicken eggs, which is 5.1% less compared to the same period in 2021, ProAgro Group reports with reference to the company’s report published on the Warsaw Stock Exchange website.

Despite the decline in production, exports of chicken eggs during the reporting period increased by 6.7% to 223 million units. Thus, the company’s sales of eggs in the domestic market decreased by 2.4% to 824 million units compared to January-September 2021.

The Ovostar report also notes that egg processing in the reporting period amounted to 339 million eggs, which is 10% less than in the first nine months of last year.

Interestingly, the average price of eggs, according to the report, has decreased over the previous three quarters and averaged $ 0.76 per 10 pieces excluding VAT (the same as last year), although the retail price for this period, on the contrary, has increased significantly.

Ovostar also noted that at the end of September the total number of chickens in the company was 6.84 million, which is 14.3% less than at the same date last year. In particular, there were 5.75 million laying hens, which is 13.3% less.
