The State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine (DPZKU) resumes its own agricultural production, reports ProAgro citing the company’s report.
In Kherson oblast the subsidiary of DPZKU, which has 4.8 thousand hectares of land, resumed sowing of winter wheat on the area of 540 hectares. It also sowed winter barley on an area of 700 hectares and it is planned to sow winter wheat on a total area of 2100 hectares in the future.
“Increasing our own production is of strategic importance for the further development of the corporation. In the near future, the Board of the corporation will consider the possibility of increasing the rent for the use of land. This will provide an opportunity for the branches to become more competitive and keep the land bank”, – reported the corporation.
Earlier, Vasyl Kovalenko, Acting Chairman of the Board of DPZKU, noted that the company intends to become a grain trader with a full production cycle.
