Millions of hectares of Ukrainian land have been affected by the war

Today, the general problems with the quality of soils have been compounded by those caused by the war. We are talking about millions of hectares that have fallen under occupation or are located in the frontline zones, and which have suffered significant damage and various types of pollution.

It is now important to monitor, assess and fully record the damage caused to Ukrainian land. This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky, reports “ProAgro Group” with reference to the information of the Ministry.

“We have to develop a clear action plan. The occupier must pay – compensate for all costs and losses incurred by owners, tenants, the state. International practice shows that this is a painstaking clear reasoned work with facts. In order to receive compensation in the future, it is necessary to clearly and carefully record and formalize everything properly,” said Taras Vysotskyi.

He also stressed that Ukraine is now fighting, in particular, for the establishment of the tribunal, and each sector must provide the appropriate evidence base to ensure compensation.
