Despite the war and related difficulties, the harvesting is going on in Ukraine and Zhytomyr region and is gaining momentum. This year 530,9 thousand ha of crops and leguminous plants including 216,9 thousand ha of early crops are to be harvested in all categories of farms, reports “ProAgro Group”.
According to operational data, which is quoted by Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, early grains and leguminous crops have been harvested on the area of 42.8 thousand ha, which is 20% of the planned, 164.5 thousand tons of grain have been threshed, the average yield is 38 centners/ha.
The State Administration of Ukraine notes that the rate of early grain and leguminous crops harvesting is slightly lower than last year because of unfavorable weather conditions, which developed during the growing season. And the insufficient sum of effective temperatures constrained the ripening of early crops, so the yields this year will be somewhat lower than last year.
