Agricultural producers of Lviv oblast are completing the harvesting of late crops. This is reported by ProAgro Group with reference to the information of the Lviv Oblast State Administration.
As of November 17, the region has harvested 88.5 thousand tons of sunflower seeds from 34.9 thousand hectares (98% of sowing) with total yield of 25.3 c/ha and 240 thousand tons of soybeans from 80.2 thousand hectares (96% of sowing) with yield 29.9 c/ha. At the same time, 23 thousand hectares of corn have been harvested, the yield of which is currently 105.1 c/ha.
This year corn and soybean yields are 5-15% higher than last year’s figure, while sunflower, on the contrary, is 10% lower.
“Although agrarians have better results compared to the last year, companies still have to harvest late crops on the area of 61.8 thousand hectares (15.8% of the sown area). According to preliminary estimates of the department of agro-industrial development, gross production of grain and industrial crops is expected to be as high as last year, “- said Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Development Lyudmila Goncharenko.
