Early grain harvesting has been completed in the Prykarpattia region

In Ivano-Frankivsk region, threshing of early grains, which this year occupied 84 thousand hectares in the region, has been completed. Of these, farmers threshed almost half a million tons of grain. In particular, the gross harvest of wheat is 320 thousand tons.

According to the “ProAgro Group” with reference to the “Holos Ukrainy”, the average yield of wheat in the Prykarpattia region is even higher than last year – 58.9 c / ha against 55 c / ha. The area under this crop increased to 54.4 thousand hectares due to spring wheat (47.1 thousand hectares were allocated for winter wheat). 141.2 thousand tons of barley were harvested at a yield of 60.1 c/ha, 4.5 thousand tons of rye, 10.5 thousand tons of oats and 800 tons of peas.

“The harvest was not easy. The Prykarpattia region was spared from active hostilities, but the general tension in the conditions of martial law was felt. This is a shortage and significant rise in fuel prices, and disruption of logistics for the supply of seeds, fertilizers and plant protection products. The threat of missile attacks hovered even over the territories remote from the zone of active hostilities,” – the publication notes.

Nevertheless, farmers came out of the stupor and started their usual work. And not only because spring is feeding the year. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, the fields were in the zone of active hostilities, and it was clear that the country would lose a significant amount of grain. In the rear Ivano-Frankivsk region, it was necessary to take maximum care of the winter crops laid for the 2022 harvest and sow spring crops. The agrarians mobilized, used the safety margin and coped with this task.
