One million households in Ukraine will receive free vegetable seeds

The BORSCH Charity Initiative will provide over 1 million households in Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mykolayiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions with free seeds and vegetable seedlings of borsch set.

This was reported by the organizers of the project, as “ProAgro Group” informswith reference to Economic Truth.

In the first 10 days of the BORSCH initiative 2.5 million hryvnias have already been collected from individuals in Ukraine and abroad, and seeds for 1 million hryvnias have been received from the partner companies. The plan is to raise 1 million euros by April 23. This amount will be enough to purchase 2.5 million bags of seeds.

“We buy seeds, deliver them to territorial communities, which in turn give it to households. The greatest need is for onions, beets and carrots. Seed potatoes are available in sufficient quantities in the villages. Ukrainians, who have up to 1 hectare of land, will receive help”, noted Alex Lissitsa, the initiator of the project.

According to him, today, especially in the border regions, where there was occupation, the income of the majority of the locals will depend on their own garden plot.

Agricultural market companies of Ukraine have also joined the charitable project, which provide households with free plant protection products, fertilizers and help with the delivery of products to the territorial communities of certain areas.
