Farmers of the Ternopil region have already harvested the first 100 thousand tons of grain. This was reported by the chairman of the regional state administration Volodymyr Trush, reports “ProAgro Group” with reference to the information of the regional state administration.
“As of today, agrarians note the high yield of winter barley and expect better harvest figures than last year. It should be noted that in 2021 the harvest of this crop was a record in the region”, – said Volodymyr Trush.
The Regional State Administration emphasized that this year the region has become a reliable rear not only in matters of humanitarian aid and shelter, but also has taken an active part in economic activities.
According to general forecasts this year was supposed to be difficult for Ukrainian farmers, but taking into account the first results of the harvesting, the yields should not be worse than last year. This is evidenced by winter barley harvest figures, which compared to last year’s by 4% more.
The total area of crops sown in Ternopil region this year is 442.6 hectares, including wheat, barley, rye and others. Harvesting of crops has already been held on 22.1 thousand hectares (5%), 166.4 thousand tons of crops have been produced. In particular, 220.5 thousand hectares of wheat were gathered and 14.5 thousand tons of wheat were threshed.
